With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the focus of this last week has been all about turkeys and traditions! I began the week by introducing some new vocabulary with the book, “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie” by Alison Jackson. This book was great for so many language concepts including sequencing, retelling, making predictions, etc. I also found some free printables to go along with the book, as well as “cut and glue” pictures which my students enjoyed pasting into the old lady’s belly. Printables were found here.
Later in the week, my students enjoyed “turkeying” themselves. This cute idea was found on Pinterest (of course) and came from a fellow blogger! I took pictures of each child during the week and let them turn their turkeys into a card for someone! The picture below comes from Happy Home Fairy and is not one of my students.
What Thanksgiving activities have you done this year?
